Why single vendor OSS is the new proprietary
- gavinhoward 3y agoThe problem with the article (besides rewriting history to remove Free Software), is that Open Source often turns into single-vendor software too. And what's worse, it is often the wrong vendor! In [1], he refers to it as "getting Jeff'ed," a reference to Jeff Bezos. In other words, Open Source lets dealers [2] eat the lunch of the original authors. Even worse, dealers can often turn Open Source proprietary, actually proprietary, so end users are shafted too.
