- epicureanideal 3y agoIn my experience, the workplaces that talk about "humility" are actually the worse environments. It basically translates to "know your place, peasant". Be highly skilled, but never question what you're asked to do, always show reverence for those above you in the hierarchy, etc. I don't want "humble" coworkers, I want confident coworkers, who also happen to be reasonable and cooperative. I especially want them to be able to confidently state their opinions, without fear that they'll be targeted for "not being humble", even if they're willing to change those opinions based on a discussion with the team.
