That’s true, but external runs can be challenging to do in a way that doesn’t look bad (e.g. cable runners not matching paint well) and could have a negative impact on resale value later on.
- magicalhippo 3y agoYeah external cables are a hard no from my SO due to aesthetics, which makes retrofitting PoE difficult.

- washadjeffmad 3y agoYou know, a lot of people can't do their own patch and paint. But you have to bear in mind, it's not their home, it's their future investor's. Don't want to get too used being comfortable.
- magicalhippo 3y agoMy SO put up and finished the drywalls, cut and mounted the moldings and trim, and painted it all. She's far more handy than me. She just find cables along moldings and similar to be very distracting visually, painted or not, hence the hard pass.
