The substantiality of spirit: Georgiana Houghton's pictures from the other side
- trilbyglens 3y agoI love this. So much real history has been buried under social norms. Swept under the rug for later generations to rediscover. How much more of our real history is just waiting to be uncovered.

- nonrandomstring 3y agoThere are interesting parallels between automatic writing. electronic voice phenomena [0], "hallucinations" obtained in generative systems seeded with noise and the misinterpretation of "chatter" in intelligence analysis. The common factor is that "We see/hear what we want to". It happens wherever there are imperceptible biases impinging on the system. A nice portrayal is the ad-lib construction of Keyser Soze's character in the Usual Suspects [1]. - mistermann 3y agoIt's certainly not limited to just these forms either...and the recursive, self-referential nature of the phenomenon makes it very tricky to analyze.
- nprateem 3y agoI saw a great documentary with a séance in. The participants contacted a medieval Welsh monk who was providing fascinating answers... He couldn't say a single word in Welsh though when asked (all the participants were English). They certainly convinced me :-D
- flir 3y agoI was expecting spirit photography. These are stunning.
