On the topic of obesity... next time you go to a grocery store, check the ingredients of the food you're purchasing. It's surprising to me how much added oil and sugar there is.
For example, it's not uncommon to see olives sold in a jar which have added olive oil. Why do we do that? Or, for example, peanuts in a bag with added peanut oil. Why? We apparently also add sugar to fruit juice, even though fruit juice is already really sweet. We should have accessible whole foods in abundance without added bullshit.
- pennomi 3y agoWhy? Because it sells better, or is cheaper to produce, or it lasts longer on shelves. Virtually all food decisions are made with economics, not health, driving them.
