Ask HN: Is LinkedIn limiting your personalized invites?
A few months ago LinkedIn started limiting my personalized invites (where you include text about how you know the person). I think it capped me at 12 per month.
Toward the end of last month I apparently ran out of these, and today I checked and I can see that they're apparently giving me 5 per month.
Is this a uniform rollout or are they just testing this? I understand the desire to reduce spam, but they could do that more effectively by limiting the total number of invites (not focusing on personalized invites), or limiting people whose invites have bad acceptance rates (mine are almost always accepted, and I don't send that many).
This change makes me much more likely to just email the person with whatever message I have, and then follow-up with a non-personalized invite.
What is anyone else experiencing, or doing in response to the changes?
