Just discovered what3words. Is this a missed opportunity?
- elwell 3y agoIs this a missed opportunity to make each word successively more granular? (like a quadtree) You could also cluster names alphabetically to indicate proximity. E.g., banana.star.green would be close to banana.star.electronics, and would be closer to banana.curry.funk than house.choose.watcher.
- stop50 3y agoThe words are not alphabetically sorted to prevent somebody mishear a word and driving to the wrong location.
- elwell 3y agoGood point. Still think granularity could have been embedded in the naming scheme. It would be cool if you could become familiar with the some of the first words in your ?state?, and some second words in your ?city?.
- thinkingemote 3y agoIt has a generally negative reputation on HN for a number of factors: https://hn.algolia.com/?q=what3words https://hn.algolia.com/?q=what3words
