- frfl 3y agoThis is more about not having the right understanding of what life will look life after FIRE (financial independence, retire early). Perhaps too much focus on the RE and not enough on the flexibility and options that come from the FI. I look at it as, I can now focus my energy on the things I want to do professionally and personally rather than what I needed to do without FI, and that wouldn't include playing games/watching TV or hanging out with friends _all day every day_ for decades until I drop off.
