- runarberg 3y agoIn short, NYT is being accused of propagandizing accusations of sexual violence. This is very serious and not OK for a serious newspaper to do. On BlueSky I saw this described it as such: > Trying to explain the NYT story to a friend and getting tears in my eyes- such a vicious horrific thing to do to weaponize people’s real trauma to carry out a genocide AND ensure that more actual sexual assault victims aren’t listened to in the future. https://bsky.app/profile/mommunism.bsky.social/post/3kmmxxzu76d2q https://bsky.app/profile/mommunism.bsky.social/post/3kmmxxzu...

- pphysch 3y agoWhy did a Pulitzer-prize winning NYT journalist choose a non-journalist with a military intelligence background -- and her nephew in law -- to do the on-the-ground reporting for an extremely consequential story? Based on the (lack of) fallout, these orders almost certainly came from the top.
