- Kozmik1 3y agoIf you want to reduce risk, I don't suggest spending more time at sea, or buying boats.
- Fricken 3y agoI suppose it depends on which risks you're trying to reduce. The risk of death, however, is 100% no matter what, so it's not worth getting uptight about.
- KptMarchewa 3y agoI think it's 50%, I'll either die or not.
- mcphage 3y agoOr a third, secret thing.
- hnfong 3y agoIf a fisherman goes out to sea and fish, they will find fish with high probability. If a fisherman tries to float shares of their new business in the stock exchange... I'm not sure even whether you'd buy that stock.
- KptMarchewa 3y agoAnd if your ship burns, or have otherwise other accident, suddenly you can't feed your family.
- ryandrake 3y agoI've always hated this stupid parable, because the punchline is that the two end states are exactly the same, where they are clearly not. The businessman's end state is to not have to fish for survival, whereas the fisherman's current and end state is that he does. Big difference.
