South Korean streamers struggle after Twitch exits due to SPNP network fees
- rbax 3y agoSouth Korea's policy approach to uneven network load is similar to a paid peering agreement where a Tier 1 ISP provides transit for a Tier 2/3 but applied in every peering situation. The approach opens up a variety of issues[1] due to how unorthodox it is with current peering arrangements and several tech companies have already left the country. I understand the intention of the law but I don't think it is the best approach. Maybe the fee schedule is too high to warrant staying in country?
