It's entirely possible Fedora sucks and is at fault while KDE itself is not responsible for the problems.

  it is likely underlying services / drivers are to blame. I have similar issues with bluetooth and my gpu preventing sleep / causing screen issues

  i had similar lock issues with my kali VM, but that was through virtualbox, could be related however
