  Let’s not stop there. Set the number of senators in proportion to the state’s population, in order to be a more representative democracy.

  To fix the Senate, you need to make it more proportional to the number of people in the states. The other option would be to get rid of the Senate all together, as it’s undemocratic to begin with. North Dakota should not get the same power as all of CA. ND is the same population as San Francisco, it’s hard to imagine the original writers of the constitution would have thought that a 50x imbalance of representation would be a good thing.

    I thought that was the whole point - if you make California all powerful in the house and Senate, smaller states get trampled on. It's no longer a union of states at that point, might as well rename the country California.
