Biden Calls Chinese Electric Vehicles a Security Threat
- gnicholas 3y agoGiven the restrictions on certain Chinese routers, it makes sense to consider the security implications of having millions of cars on the road, running software from state-affiliated foreign companies. This would apply no matter what country they're from, but is especially relevant where there are geopolitical tensions. What we really need is to require all cars to have an "airplane mode" where it is running fully offline. No tracking, no voice assistant, nothing remote. I would use this all the time, and its presence would make me more likely to purchase a vehicle from that company.
