I have seen three total solar eclipses and some partial ones. Before every one of these total eclipses the weather was either overcast or had been raining beforehand and there was much angst amongst us onlookers that we'd miss it. But we didn't, the clouds parted and each one was a magnificent and awe-inspiring spectacle. Not only did the clouds part but it got noticeably cold.
