- chris_wot 3y agoNobody thinks worse of anyone who later acknowledges they made a mistake. Hell, I personally think more of them!

- mjhay 3y agoThe legal definition of entrapment is so narrow it may as well not exist.
- thsksbd 3y agoIf say it has been narrowed, rather than narrow.
- kristjansson 3y agoIf you're habitually doing crime[0], and someone ask you to do crime for them, and you do, and that person turns out to have been a agent of law enforcement... that's not entrapment, and law enforcement's involvement shouldn't be a defense. N.B. In no way do I think the conduct here is doing crime, but for the purposes of entrapment take the illegality as given. His site[1] clearly markets his business as doing deer recovery, so the conduct falls into a pattern. It's not like the warden called up his friend with a drone, asked him to look for a deer, and then was like 'Ha I caught you doing crime give me $1500' [1]: https://www.wingyds.com https://www.wingyds.com
- boringg 3y agoAgree with you. How is this entrapment? Is everyone up in arms here only because HN likes drones and feels like this is an encroachment on drone operators?
- qup 3y agoI think we generally expect cops to catch you doing a crime, not to ask you to do a crime. Whether or not it's technically entrapment, or bears similarities to undercover drug cops.
- op00to 3y agoI expect cops to enforce the law. Part of that involves not only catching dumb criminals, but tricking smart ones too.
