I have even less respect for Apple after reading that they care who some popstar's first band was.
- xandrius 3y agoProbably just looking for confirmation. The evaluation approach is totally valid.
- ainiriand 3y agoPlease, do not look at the specifics. In this case many things were put to the test, one of those is the ability of returning answers from the search engine. That is a very important selling point for 'advanced' search engines and it is something that almost consistently under-performs.
- Mistletoe 3y agoInformation is information and Bing got it wrong.
- another-dave 3y agoPresumably it's able to get well-indexed information right (e.g. "capital of France" => Paris), so to test its breadth and depth you have to get more obscure. The particular query is irrelevant, just that they're testing like a reverse Gell-Mann Amnesia effect — asking it stuff that you _do_ know the answer to as a proxy for how good it is generally.
