No mention of Medicaid or skipping health insurance altogether. When I first retired nearly 10 years ago I went without health insurance for a few years. Then after the work requirement was eliminated for Medicaid, I realized I was eligible for Medicaid. It was tough keeping my income below the threshold but Medicaid was great. When I had a bad MTB crash and hit my head, I went to the emergency room and never saw a bill. Medicaid also paid for physical therapy. I sold some property and am carrying the loan and that income threw me over the limit. I'm back to no health insurance. Fortunately, I am very healthy and I take good care of my teeth.
