I can’t help but imagine exactly the kind of types with “legal and reasonable” critiques of critical race theory.
This piece doesn’t actually seem to elaborate on the IMPACT of this “lack of free speech”. People are being “shunned” for questioning DEI?
Hardly the Cultural Revolution, is it?
The report itself gives much more weight to the complaints of these academics: https://afcomm.org.uk/2024/02/22/caf-survey-reveals-climate-of-oppression-and-fear-in-uk-universities/ https://afcomm.org.uk/2024/02/22/caf-survey-reveals-climate-...
Still… if being “unable to mention” the academic a building used to be named after, is ranked as a problem big enough to mention, I struggle to find sympathy.
There are bigger threats to free speech than “lots of DEI posters in a department building”.
