- joshstrange 3y agoThis thread is better than the article. Though this quote: > just another blatant example of how AI needs to be regulated in so many ways immediately as an emergency of sorts. This is just going to get worse and its happening fast. Rubs me wrong. We already have laws around false advertisement or not delivering what's promised that apply here. I'm not saying AI doesn't need to be regulated but AI isn't to blame here. Bad planning and false advertisement is to blame. Yes, maybe AI makes it easier but you could fake pictures or use a different event's pictures to lie about your event before AI.

- internet101010 3y agoI get that this dude is mad but he is using this as an example of why AI should be regulated when it would already be covered under false advertising.
- broken-kebab 3y agoShould be memefied as * How as a founder I think my app looks to a potential customer * What customer sees
- phyzome 3y agoOr possibly: * What AI promised * What AI delivered
- ryandvm 3y agoTo me this seems not altogether dissimilar from the already common advertising practices in the food industry. Have you ever compared the dilapidated, tired sandwich you get from a fast food place with the image on the menu display? They use all manner of deception and trickery to make the picture look far more appetizing than what you're going to be served. Things like motor oil as syrup, white glue instead of milk, or hair spray to simulate moisture. What is the difference? Don't get me wrong, I'm not on the side of the AI tricksters. Instead, I think we should be coming down on ANY advertiser that is illicitly altering the product in advertising.
