Since I am on the free tier of both I guess I have only used GPT 3.5 and whatever the free offering of Gemini is. I find Gemini to be significantly slower. I am sure Google can fix that on premium tiers. I also found Gemini to be less able. It has fewer tasks / fields it will answer about. Gemini is more honest though. ChatGPT seems to nearly in all cases say "Sure I can do that" and then return some non-coherent answer.
