Related to 3D but different from physics engines: for those interested in BREP (boundary representation) CAD kernels, you might be interested in the open source Rust project called Fornjot.

Just FYI for any random geniuses who happen to read this post - if you can create a modern open-source GPU accelerated CAD kernel (GPU computation, not graphics), mechanical engineers the world over will build shrines in your honour. #HeresHoping
