You should always be careful to treat people as individuals, but it is worth considering that people who have come of age and lived through different periods of history will be shaped differently and have different views of the world. Interestingly, I have seen my own boomer parents grow more cynical over the last few years. Particularly my mother who's lifelong employer was bought by private equity a few years ago.
