Is forcing everyone to buy a new ev really good for the planet? I would think people keeping and repair existing vehicles would be better for the planet than mining, transporting, refining, building, transporting again a brand new car.
- marssaxman 3y agoNobody will be forced to buy EVs; the California law does not prevent people from continuing to use their existing vehicles, nor from reselling them. It will simply become illegal to sell new fossil fuel vehicles in the state after 2035.

- marssaxman 3y agoThe market will handle it, within the new constraint that damaging the environment and putting one's fellow citizens at risk by pumping out fossil-fuel exhaust will be considered decreasingly acceptable behavior.
