Look at the big picture.
Just 3 names: Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink
- manuelabeledo 3y ago> Look at the big picture. Tesla has been great for the shareholders, mediocre products overall. Neuralink isn't even close to deliver.
- neverrroot 3y agoMediocre? Not sure. Especially the Cybertruck, groundbreaking things such as steer-by-wire, 48v architecture to name just two of them. Then we have the manufacturing plants of Tesla, also groundbreaking in so many areas. And you forgot to mention SpaceX at all. Maybe that’s because they are as good as they are. Some (many?) people would consider even only one of these companies proof of excellence from the man. But he’s done so much more than only one or only these three. And yes, he’s still flawed, like any other human being. But he’s done so much more than most human beings.

And rusting and staining, and downgraded mileage (the original promise was 500 miles). General QA mediocrity, like panel alignment issues, is on par with other Tesla cars. Anyway, I was planning on writing a sarcastic response to the rest of your comment, but it reads like Musk fan-fiction, so much so, I'm going to pass.
- Zigurd 3y agoLooking at the big picture, what I get is, in part: Elon is a walking second system syndrome instigator. Both Starship and Cybertruck have a classic set of symptoms. Both are the result of having the self-confidence of a first generation gen-AI chatbot, which enables him to stop listening to the competent people he hired and believe that his own ideas are what created successful products. Watching Starship and and Cybertruck happen is the second act of the Elon opera.
