Seconded. One of my contract gigs (somehow) escalated to the point where they sent the final paycheck only after I was in the process of initiating arbitration procedures. If my only option was to sue, I wouldn’t have gotten paid for the last two weeks of work. My situation was a little different than what OP is asking about, but the experience was pleasant and approachable, so I wanted to chime in as a data point for "the little guy."
