AGI will be the most profound technology we will have invented and it'll be the last technology we have to invent. Significantly more profound than the internet. And yes I think AGI is coming soon, 5-10 years or less.
- mrbishalsaha 3y agoSame, AI might just be the pinnacle of software technology. But I don't think this will be our last invention. Even if AGI comes and we make it possible, people will still have to work on quantum computers, robotics and a lot more. As someone once said, software is an enabler not the solution itself.

If we can put truly human-level intelligence into a machine, and we can make it cheap enough to run at scale, it can do all the intellectual work we can do, almost by definition. If it couldn't do it, then it wouldn't be human-level AGI.
