It's been a problem for a long time. Just go through any CS textbook and try to count many stupid jokes from 50 years ago are now technical jargon. It's not just computer stuff either - jargon from any field is a usually result of workers using imprecise or joking language to refer to things with more proper names long enough that it becomes standard. Tech just has it worse because almost all the communication happens quickly and informally and spreads that much faster.
