Am I understanding correctly that:
- A metal band unveiled their album art created using generative AI.
- The band expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
- However, the author of the article criticized it, suggesting the band's approval was misplaced simply because the author personally disliked it.
Is this matter truly significant? Perhaps I'm overlooking some context, especially since I'm not deeply familiar with this music genre.
- syene 3y agoIt seems to me that they’re criticising the AI-generated covers on the principle that all AI-art is terrible for human artists and human-art; and it shouldn’t have a place in the world. A simple aesthetic dislike wouldn’t warrant an article, let alone one filled with comparisions to previous album covers people drew, the effort human art takes, et cetera.
