Happened to me with my mortgage. Got this very weirdly phrased letter about how my homeowner insurance info needed to be updated/confirmed and that I had to go to <random website> to clear it out. I called my insurance broker and yes indeed it was legit. I also tried to explain to them how this letter was a few steps removed from a Nigerian prince scam based on all the red flags, but i don't think it made a big difference.

The national insurance providers are often pretty slow or shady when it comes to claims, but I've never had a bad experience with Allstate or State Farm when it comes to their cybersecurity and domain experience. Allstate's frontends (web and app) sometimes feel more clunky but their APIs feel good enough and sites seem to follow good design practices.
