Ameria claims to have created the first AI device based on a laptop
- bawolff 3y agoSurely they are not the first person to put a LLM on a laptop?? Is there some other way i should be reading their claim?
- rightbyte 3y agoThe claim should be read as bogus marketing I guess. It seems to be a laptop with Xbox Kinect kind of gesture recognition?
- hcfman 3y agoYou spelt America wrong.
- unwind 3y agoUh what does that even mean? I acknowledge that I really don't follow AI, but this is just confusing as all h*ll to me. Their description (and I really use the term loosely): This advanced laptop offers a new level of interaction virtualization, allowing for unparalleled customization to meet your individual needs. More than just a laptop, MaverickAI serves as a personal assistant and a platform for engaging with 3D content, all without the need for additional peripherals like VR headsets. There is also an image of what seems to be a 3D rendered AI-driven avatar, hovering in front of the screen of a laptop whose keyboard is blank. Also, how is it pronounced? "Maverick to the power of AI" is not too smooth but that is what their styling looks like. It's like a nightmare. Edit: fixed markup, had stray asterisk.
- bawolff 3y agoBoth VR and AI! If only it supported bitcoin we'd have a hype bingo.
- scrps 3y agoPoking around their site a bit deeper they seem to make some sort of marketing displays that are gesture controlled so obviously this qualifies them to make an "AI laptop". What is that? Local LLM? Do I have some agent watching all my system calls for tomfoolery? Does it tell me I am doing a great job while it watches me butcher some poor programming language? Can it at least format yaml for me since I am not lazy enough already? Better yet, can it infer from the quality and depth of my yaml nesting my deepest fears and desires and output them in json?
