Can anyone here estimate what it costs OpenAI to generate, say, a 5 second video using Sora?

- dorkwood 3y agoThanks for the link! Although this appears to be more focused on what it will cost the end user, as opposed to what it will cost OpenAI.
- fragmede 3y agoWhich is your question, I didn't miss the subtle difference. (and you pointed it out nicely :) If we assume openai is making a profit on queries, it means that their cost to run this is less than what they're charging, at which point, the guess for what they're charging is a ballpark for what it costs. Training is impossibly expensive, inference is totally cheap.
