We need brutal penalties for heinous crimes against innocents.
People think that’s uncivilized. But it’s uncivilized to shoot people in the street.
Hang them from a tree in front of everyone. That at least sends a message.
I’m tired of murderers being protected and victims being shit on. Grow some nuts.
- ambichook 3y agothey need to be punished but hanging them on a tree is a bit much no?
- natpalmer1776 3y ago¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There is no humane way to measure whether method of delivery for the death penalty as any causative connection to a decrease in violent crimes.
- h0l0cube 3y agoReinstating capital punishment would be piling a wrong on top of another wrong. So many people have been executed only to be posthumously exonerated. The justice system isn’t perfect, and the death penalty presents a greater potential for injustice, which often biases towards POC.
- credit_guy 3y ago> for heinous crimes against innocents. What about the heinous crimes against those who are not innocent?
- natpalmer1776 3y agoI assume the GP is referring to the extreme side of a gradient that exists between 'random murder on the streets due to indiscriminate gunfire' and 'man forgets emergency brake on hill causing pedestrian to get hit (and die) as it rolls away' In the United States (no idea about any other country) there are multiple different crimes that equate to "your actions caused someone to die" such as homicide, manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, etc. that all have their own conditions that must be fulfilled, some of which are based on the circumstances of the crime itself.
- credit_guy 3y agoIt looks to me the OP is talking about the victim. Implying that the “heinous” murder of a nun deserves a harsher sentence than the equally “heinous” murder of a drug dealer. I’m not a lawyer, but I hope the law does not make such distinctions. “The victim had it coming” doesn’t make me very symphatetic to the killer, I hope others feel the same.
