Journalist Tim Burke Indicted for Leaking Tucker Carlson Clips
- tptacek 3y agoThe indictment: https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24438610/burke-indictment.pdf https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24438610/burke-indict... This is unlikely to go well for Burke. Later The Post has updates and direct reporting; Burke claims the credentials he used were publicly available demo logins (but the indictment has him DM'ing about multiple sets of credentials, and scouring machines for files). We'll see! This case is going to be about a lot more than whether URLs are public or not. https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/2024/02/22/tim-burke-indicted-fox-news-tucker-carlson/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/2024/02/22/tim-bu...
- danso 3y agoYeah this doesn’t sound like a case of accessing a publicly known and unsecured URL. Especially if it’s the case that those stream URLs were first found by logging into LiveU using credentials that were accidentally exposed on a news site: https://thedesk.net/news/timothy-burke-password-cbs-news-fox-feeds-kanye-west/ https://thedesk.net/news/timothy-burke-password-cbs-news-fox...
