Half of College Grads Are Working Jobs That Don't Use Their Degrees
- gnicholas 3y ago> Securing even one internship during college significantly improves the odds of landing a college-level job upon graduation, according to the study. Does landing an internship improve the odds of getting a college-level job, or is it the case that students who are qualified enough to land internships end up being the students who are also qualified enough to scoop up good jobs after college?

- angiosperm 3y agoJust half? As a software engineer, I have only ever used material from one class I took. It was theory of computation, specifically order notation. The rest of programming is (and was) easily absorbed from books. The actual value of the education was entirely in the weekly problem sets, which demonstrated that I have no valid assessment of my own capabilities: for each, I was certain I could not solve any, but invariably turned them in, complete, the following Monday. Engineering work has been similar.
