Biden administration to cancel another $1.2B of student loans

- bodiekane 3y agoI can't believe the absurd euphemisms we tolerate on this issue. There is no such thing as "cancelling" or "forgiving" student loans. The debt was transferred from the people who took out the loans to taxpayers. Biden administration took $1,200,000,000 from your income taxes and gave it to an influential voting group. This is one of the most egregious cases of "pork barrel" unethical government corruption and grifting in the Western world.
- verdverm 3y agoThe people getting help from this are getting less than the child tax credit This is only for people who've borrowed $12k or less and have been at it for 10 years
- earthling8118 3y agoThis is hardly a drop in the bucket compared to what was paid for PPP loans. It can't even remotely be compared to the actual corruption.
- manuelabeledo 3y agoGood. Still absurd that such loans exist, and people ended up on the hook for decades for a bad decision they made when they were barely adults.
- 0xC0ncord 3y agoThe administration needs to put an end entities giving out these insane loans that no one is realistically able to pay off in a reasonable amount of time IN ADDITION to paying them. I share your sentiment but the more the government keeps "forgiving" student debt the more these types of loans will continue to exist.
