There is not a growing “intellectual movement” there are a handful of economists. They also apparently don’t understand that Expenditures and tax receipts are not the same. When the government doesn’t take your money it doesn’t “cost them” that amount. (Not to mention the cost of providing retirement vs individuals saving for themselves)
