Privacy preferences have shifted pretty dramatically. People now understand that sharing their personal information and personal opinions in an open platform is high risk low reward.
So we now scratch our social itch with group chats and private groups.
- avgDev 3y agoI disagree, maybe in tech circles. From my experience normal people don't care like at all.
- nostromo 3y agoYoung people care and are very aware of what they share and don't share. That's why Facebook is only popular with boomers now. Young people are in private chat groups, using alts on Instagram, and then only sharing the most anodyne content publicly under their real name.
