Good call on the pagers, although I didn't know anyone used pagers anymore. You'll never know until you try it w/a startup. However, being composed of people, like big company's are, all the human failings are evident there. The upside to startups over big co is not having to deal w/bureaucracy and usually (but not always, lotta big egos in startup founders) more of an egalitarian vibe. Other than that, I think they are all over the map, just like bigco, some of which are very nice to work at.
