The Story of Curl
- ryanbigg 3y agoIt feels like there’s 20 years of history missing between 2000 and 2019. What cool stories are hidden in those two decades? :)
- anoopelias 3y agoSlightly off topic: Top 100 from OSSF's most critical open source projects exported from BigQuery: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K0vu5Eu_LRQBYKVYHhYmBH5nZryWmqgei7u-Eix0DVQ/edit#gid=954370429 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K0vu5Eu_LRQBYKVYHhYm... Interesting bit to me is: Angular is #13 while React is #15!
- tenahu 3y agoI'm suprised to see Nix at #20. Is it becoming more widely adopted?
- pxc 3y agoThe criticality score looks like it involves not just dependents but a bunch of different kinds of activity metrics, and Nixpkgs is an extremely active repo. It's niche but there's a lot of contributors and a lot of automation, so there's a lot of frequent activity.
- O1111OOO 3y ago> In 2019, I joined the company wolfSSL and started offering commercial curl support and could finally work on curl full-time. Something of a dream that came true. Clearly a labor of love. Many of us understand this. It's the reason curl exist at this level. Still... I'm happy that after ~2 decades, he's able to work on this fulltime.
