As far as I can tell SAF is basically used cooking oil and waste fats.
I would be amazed if there was enough SAF available to reliably supply 1% of the world’s AirBus A320 fleet.
- TheLoafOfBread 3y agoNo problem. We will make it by growing insane amount of rapeseed which will need its own fertilizer, which we will make from oil. Whole chain might produce more CO2 and might consume more oil than using normal aviation fuel, and is likely going to be quite more expensive, but we all must make sacrifices to avert climate change.
