'Beauty' is in the eye of the beholder. For me the slide examples presented are garish, cluttered, near illegible and very unappealing. Then again, my decks usually have near zero text on them and consist of mostly full bleed photos for emotional engagement and illustratoons/graphs for supporting technical details. The downside is if you need to supply handoits or a standalone uou have to make an entirely separate deck. (I'm assuming the article was in good faith and not meant as a hoax)
