"I wish AI would advance in other careers than ones that people are passionate about."
So that means? researchers are passionate about their job does that mean that we shouldn't use AI to speed up medical research? material research? so on and so on. It's just someone mad that their job is getting closer to be automated before others.
- fragmede 3y agoit means that computers and ai were supposed to automate away the boring parts of life. folding clothes and doing the dishes. instead, the ai we have right now is making art and poetry, which is what was supposed to be the fun part of being human.
- dale_glass 3y agoWhy "supposed to"? When was that even a thing? Go on youtube, you'll find plenty videos of people making intricate pots, brushes, etc by hand. You'll also find people do old school metal working with manual mills and lathes. Those people look like they clearly take pride in their work and often enjoy the activity. Automation came for them as well and the ones you see today are the very few remaining.
