I've used some dark themes in code editors for 2-3 years about 5 years ago (the decades before had been light themes only, well, actually the default Emacs one, lightly customised) and finally switched back as I realised that I can read a 1pt smaller font better if in light mode than the same but bigger font in dark mode, I permanently switched back to light themes. And when it's dark outside I just turn on the lights in the room.
