- KerrAvon 3y agoAustin has infinite land and equally infinite highways/pavement/traffic.
- KerrAvon 3y agoWhich is not to say SF shouldn’t build, but Austin is not a useful model.
- HDThoreaun 3y agoTheres nothing stopping SF and especially SV from becoming much denser. The limited land sure is not the problem.
- cyberax 3y agoLOL, rents have declined by around 20% in SF from the peak in 2019: https://www.sfchronicle.com/realestate/article/sf-rent-prices-18534829.php https://www.sfchronicle.com/realestate/article/sf-rent-price... During the same time, Austin rents skyrocketed: https://www.kut.org/austin/2023-05-09/after-two-years-of-incredible-rises-rents-in-austin-start-to-fall https://www.kut.org/austin/2023-05-09/after-two-years-of-inc... Again, proving my prediction: more construction equals higher prices.
