I think a lot of laypeople have the idea that there are an infinite number of positive return projects waiting to be funded and pharma execs are just too fat and greedy. There are very few pharma projects that aren't outright frauds and that actually have potential and that don't cost way more to get to market than they can ever possibly justify. Very seldom do those project lack money.
