I'm not sure why I need to concern myself with how the math works. I mean, I'm a software developer and I don't really understand how a complier works. I'm sure there is a non-zero benefit to my abilities if I did understand more about how a complier works, but since I work on higher level software and nothing that is really so resource constrained, I just don't think I really need to understand the low level to be useful and successful.
