Recently I've been thinking there should be a term limit for PMs/Chancellors
Tatcher, Merkel, Putin - if they would have a 10 year limit, things would be much better.
- xn7 3y agoPutin has “updated” term limits several times. For the UK and Germany, this makes sense, however.
- ed_balls 3y agoIf he would choose to leave after 2 terms, he would be a positive figure in Russian history. Now, he will be responsible for the collapse of the Russian Federation.
- poszlem 3y agoHistory shows us that term limits mainly stop those who'd play by the rules from getting re-elected. The guys who couldn't care less about the rules? They'll just whip up a new law to extend their stay in power. Putin being the prime example.
