Musk didn't build SpaceX or Tesla to get rich, and what he's demanding isn't really money but control. It doesn't help that it's been about a decade since he heard anyone actually say no to him either until he tried to screw with the Delaware Chancery Court. So now he's tuck tail and running to somewhere he doesn't have to follow the rules.
