Backups of docker containers? isn't the whole point that they should be cattle not pets?
- justsomehnguy 3y agoJudging from the [0] the guy is trying to do something to perform the backup of the services data in the container. It has it's uses, specifically if you need to restore data after a failed input or upgrade or whatever, especially if you use a named volumes. - zzyzxd 3y agoBut you can take someone else's cattle, modify it and make a different cattle. The whole point of container's overlay filesystem is that you can do stuff, take a snapshot so that you can always get back to this point, and then do something more without worrying about ruining all progress.
